Okay so back in September 2015, I changed jobs. Previously I was working for an electrical contractor 25 hours per week as an office manager, now I work for an accounting firm 40 hours per week as a staff accountant. Who knew what a difference that 15 hours would make in my life! I miss all of that time. I miss hanging out at the house with my dog, or taking him to work me. I really didn't realize just how spoiled I was. LOL! I am literally "putting on my big girl pants". I am, however, finally getting used to things. I am discovering new talents:
- I can juggle, never knew that about myself.
- I can also cook and clean a lot faster.
- I have learned to take time and look outside my office window and watch people, people are definitely worth watching!
- Since I can't watch Netflix at work (without a lot of effort) I have learned to listen to audio books, brushing up on my listening skills, definitely needed that.
- I can appear to be busy without necessarily being busy, like now! Ha! Maybe not a good trait but a necessary one. I have to rely on other people giving me work and when they don't I am stuck trying to look busy while waiting for stuff to come in.
- I am learning to be more creative with my time.
- I can travel without having an anxiety attack! Have to travel a bit with this job.
There are probably more but I can't think of them right now. There are a lot good things about this job also.
- I am downtown so there is a lot more to see.
- I like the people I work with.
- One of the partners reminds me of Michael Scott on the Office.
- I am actually doing what I trained to do.
I am sure there are more.
Bottom line I am adjusting. I will survive. I still miss my dog, though.
