Boyfriend Cardigan!

I have gotten back to my roots and started sewing again. The materials available today are absolutely lovely and scrumptious. I love using Indie patterns and this cardigan is a prime example of why.

Boyfriend Cardigan

The pattern was purchased from lovenotions.com. The instructions are super easy to follow and since the pattern is layered you have the option to only print the sizes you need. I love everything about this pattern especially the pockets! I love pockets!

The material was purchased from Knitpops.com. They are both knits and were lovely to work with. The number contrast didn’t have as much stretch as the navy but I think it still turned out well. I am wearing it right now lol!

Happy sewing, knitting or crocheting whatever your faves are!

Okay so back in September 2015, I changed jobs. Previously I was working for an electrical contractor 25 hours per week as an office manager, now I work for an accounting firm 40 hours per week as a staff accountant.  Who knew what a difference that 15 hours would make in my life! I miss all of that time.  I miss hanging out at the house with my dog, or taking him to work me.  I really didn't realize just how spoiled I was.  LOL!   I am literally "putting on my big girl pants".  I am, however, finally getting used to things.  I am discovering new talents:

  1. I can juggle, never knew that about myself.
  2. I can also cook and clean a lot faster.
  3. I have learned to take time and look outside my office window and watch people, people are definitely worth watching!
  4. Since I can't watch Netflix at work (without a lot of effort) I have learned to listen to audio books, brushing up on my listening skills, definitely needed that.
  5. I can appear to be busy without necessarily being busy, like now! Ha!  Maybe not a good trait but a necessary one.  I have to rely on other people giving me work and when they don't I am stuck trying to look busy while waiting for stuff to come in.
  6. I am learning to be more creative with my time.
  7. I can travel without having an anxiety attack!  Have to travel a bit with this job.
There are probably more but I can't think of them right now.   There are a lot good things about this job also.
  1. I am downtown so there is a lot more to see.
  2. I like the people I work with.
  3. One of the partners reminds me of Michael Scott on the Office.
  4. I am actually doing what I trained to do.
I am sure there are more.

Bottom line I am adjusting.  I will survive.  I still miss my dog, though.

Just a little bit about my blogger ID.  I have spent many, many years hiding who I really am, trying to be what everyone thought I should be, you know the game perhaps you play it yourself.  In the last year I have come to the realization the I am tired of being a people pleaser.  First of all it takes way too much energy to keep that act going and secondly living like Jesus means to accept the way you were created.  I don't mean you can't change because the Lord really does know that I have changed and He is constantly changing me.  I simply mean to quit worrying about everybody else and their opinion of you and simply be you for yourself and God. I am not perfect nor should I pretend to be.  The good thing about walking with God is you come to realize that none of us are perfect.  We should strive to be but we won't be.  So accept that, I have.
